"If someone were to come and announce that the enemy had just entered your cities, stolen away your wives and children, and desecrated your churches, who would not immediately rush to take up arms?

Well, all these evils and others still worse have fallen on the family of Jesus Christ, which is also yours. It was dispersed by the sword of pagans; barbarians destroyed the house of God and divided His inheritance. What else must take place for you to repair so many evils and avenge so many outrages?

Will you let the infidels contemplate in peace the destruction and looting they have done in

the house of the Christian people? Think of how their triumph will be the cause of inconsolable sorrow for all centuries and an eternal shame for the generation that permitted it.

Yes, the living God has charged me with telling you that He will chastise

all those who do not defend Him against His enemies.

All of you, then, to arms!

Let a holy ire animate you to combat, and let these words of the Prophet

resound throughout the world:

Cursed be he who does not bloody his sword!"

The story of the Alcázar

This extraordinary story of Catholic valor has been long forgotten but it would be a great disservice to the memory of those who were involved in making such heroic history not to mention it again, in the light of the situation today, namely the upcoming Russian led communist enslavement of the world.

It is of no purpose to be silent about such Catholic defense of the Church, while God Himself has given us such glorious examples of Catholic resolve, not for us to forget about them, but to imitate them to the fullest.

This story is so remarkable itself that it also didn't escape the notice of various suspicious characters who, hiding behind their stature of "known authors" and "university professors" could not hide their published misleading characteristics, which they implied to the 1936 Spanish Civil War, not to tell the truth, but to distort it in order to mislead those who would dare to follow such Catholic example - this is based on the discrepancies in their accounts of what has happened, not on any "judging" of their intent, which we are not allowed to judge,

but solely the deeds, in these cases they have more than enough marks of the enemy than

meets the eye.

Russian communists have lost this important war in Spain, and so their infernally raised pride and haughtiness of mind would not allow to slow down such evil communist propaganda to dispatch various clandestine covert agents to learn the truth about this story in order to portray it differently, the sooner the better, so those who are honest [Catholic writers] would be second to report it and the world, blind as it is today, wouldn't even care anymore anyway, while lies and distortions prevail and the truth remains hidden behind the dust of years.

In our present endeavor we will use this story in order to present, once again, that Russian

led communism is not dead, as we are told, but that in order to destroy the Catholic crusading

resolve, as the Spanish Catholics demonstrated such resolve in abundance during those famous

years, these Russian communist criminals and their agents within are making sure that this

story is never mentioned nor presented to the Catholic faithful in order that they will not be

excided to prepare for the Holy Crusade against the invading [soon] Russian eastern barbarians, to fight them and their treasonous domestic communist help, to the death.

It is a certainty that this glorious epic of the Catholic warriors who defended the Alcázar in

1936, when the Moscow organized and planned persecution of the Church in Spain was

producing its evil fruits daily [political wholesale murders of all who did not agree with

the communists, including most of all the Church], and that such Catholic crusading resolve

is not desirable to be told about today, but that it was meant by God to happen so that it can be clearly shown to us that the times, which we live in today, will be much more difficult,

but at the same time rewarding, for if we'll remain faithful to God, He will be faithful to us also and perform what He has promised [as He has done for the Alcazar defenders], for the Lord is always just and true.

It is therefore this reason why this author has decided that such example of Catholic valor and

sacrifice cannot remain untold, especially to those who don't know anything about it, or those who have already accepted the long years of tireless Russian communist propaganda, but that it has to be published again in a new form, as much persuasive in truth as possible, so that such a glorious example leads the faithful to imitate it in the upcoming Holy war against this Russian communist scourge.

The sources used for this work will be listed when quoted. 

I've come across this story by "accident", and to explain it little more, I have to tell you

what I knew about it before I learned the truth.

Having only communist education, while the subject of Spanish Civil War was brought up by

our atheistic communist teachers, they have always portrayed the Spanish Catholics as fascist

and the Franco regime as fascist, and thus opposed to the "progress" of the world.

Such communist lies were not believed, but we, as the ordinary people, specially in such young age, not having the truth told to us, and instead, this kind of communist propaganda was preached by our teachers so that the lie is made into a "truth" and the evil prevails.

We were told that the loss Communism has suffered in Spain was only a temporal setback,

and that the Soviet comrades have learned a valuable lesson from the outcome of the Spanish Civil War, so that many mistakes made could be avoided in the future and communism, this atheistic "heaven on earth", would soon enough see the light of the day all over the world....

So naturally, as we've known the unchangeable fact that communists lie and deceive, we didn't

trust them and secretly were glad that somebody beat them and that they couldn't make it in

Spain.

But the bad part was that there was no information that this was a Catholic Holy Crusade and that General Franco was not a Nazi, as the communist lie claimed over and over, but Franco

and all who were fighting with him were fully committed God loving Catholics who couldn't bear it in their consciences not to do anything to oppose the horrible evil the, communist controlled and by Stalin supplied, Spanish "Popular Front" government was forcing upon the Church, murdering Catholic priests [close to 7 thousand priests and religious and 13 bishops] and thousands of Catholic faithful just for being Catholics and destroying with sacrilegious fury churches all over Spain [20 thousand churches burned and or destroyed by the Red Spanish militia].

This essential information about the Moscow organized communist persecution of the Church

in Spain, the infernal fury the communist criminals directed and conducted, the murdering

mayhem which forced the Spanish Catholics to resist and fight the Holy War against it, and

to explain this by using the truthful facts - God was with them because they won at the end

despite the overwhelming force against them, this all was completely withheld from us in the

Soviet Bloc precisely because these communist criminals fear, as they are the most trusted

devil's servants, just as their infernal master also fears, the Holy Forces of God, the Army of

Saints which executes God's wrath upon such devil's servants when it is necessary to be done.

This is the essential truth why so many authors, with the exception of very few [Spanish Catholics most of all, those who were actually there], have never understood this, and why some of them, being of the communist enemy camp, distorted the truth in order to discredit it for the future generations, which results we can clearly see today as many Catholics don't even understand why this war was fought and what the truth is behind it.

Don Francisco Franco was an officer in Spanish Foreign Legion, highly trained and experienced soldier, who, alongside other Spanish generals and officers prepared a plan for military uprising and at the end, with the help of God, succeeded in returning Spain back to God and

to His Church, justly punishing the communist vermin, which was directed and controlled in Spain by Stalin and his Soviet military officers.

It was General Franco who could not bear on his conscience not to avenge with justice the horrible evil communists have committed against the Church, while the already heretical and or fully socialist and atheistic European governments and their elites were later on condemning Franco for not allowing "the will of the people" to "exercise" democracy again, Franco knew that if he allowed free elections, the disguised communists would vote themselves into power again and Spain and the Church would be fighting another Holy War soon....and Franco signed a concordat with Rome to uphold all laws of the Church and to safeguard the rights and dignity of the Holy Mother Church in Spain - and he kept his word till his death as a good God loving Catholic.

One would ask why exactly was this war fought, and to answer I will let the involved people speak for themselves. In his book  Spain: The Vital Years [J.P. Lippincott Company, New York, NY 1967] the author Luis Bolin, former Franco Government official and captain in Franco's army during the Civil War, wrote the following [page 13]:

"We were on the eve of a tremendous revolt, which General Franco would lead,

if I managed to play the role that had been assigned to me.

 

[Ed. note - Mr. Bolin was personally involved in securing an airplane in London to

fly to pick up General Franco to get him from the Canary Islands, where Franco was

intentionally removed by the Spanish Communist government, to Spanish Morocco

to lead the troops of the Spanish Foreign Legion and the Army stationed there back to Spain to defeat the communists.]

 

The slightest slip on my part could be fatal, but the success of my venture might

well be the spark that set off civil war in Spain.

 

I was morally prepared for all that was involved in civil strife.

 

I knew that only force could now save my country, and that alternative to force

was Communism and chaos."

It is also essential to grasp the reality that when the communist persecution against

the Church started, His Holiness Pope Pius XI blessed the crusade.

Pope Pius IX on Sept. 14, 1936 received in audience a group of Spanish Catholic refugees presented by Cardinal Pacelli, and said the following about the Moscow enabled, executed  and supported communist terror in Spain [The Catholic Mind Publication, Vol. XXXV, No. 10, May 22, 1937, 53 Park Place, NY, NY]:

"But, beloved sons, the doings which your presence brings so vividly to mind are something more than a mere succession, however impressive, of devastations and disaster.

 

They are likewise a school in which the most serious lessons are being taught to Europe and the whole world - to a world now at last wholly steeped in, ensnared and threatened by subversive propaganda and more especially to a Europe battered and shaken to its very foundations."

And because of these communist perils to come, if nothing is done to defend Christendom

and the rights of God and of His Church, His Holiness Pope Pius XI gave the Spanish

Holy Crusade His blessing during his speech to a group of Spanish refugees on

September 14, 1936 at Castel Gandolfo [The Catholic Mind Publication, Vol. XXXV,

No. 10, May 22, 1937, 53 Park Place, NY, NY]:

"Our Benediction, above any mundane consideration, goes out in a special manner to all those who have assumed the difficult and dangerous task of defending and restoring the rights and honor of God and of religion, which is to say the rights and dignity of conscience, the prime and the most solid basis for

all human and civil welfare". 

The story

Mr. Carroll in his book "The Last Crusade" [Christendom Press. 1996] supports the 1965 book

of Cecil Eby "The Siege of the Alcázar", and in Mr. Carroll's words, this Eby's book is "well researched and there is no need to seek other sources...."

I strongly disagree. I've obtained the book and found out that what Mr. Eby writes and

whom he recommends as his sources, as for example Geoffrey McNeill-Moss "The Epic of the

Alcázar" (Rich and Cowan Ltd. London, U.K. 1937)], which work is not only misleading, but

tends to fully disregard the deeply religious [Catholic] background of the Spanish Civil War.

Mr. McNeill-Moss's work is tainted for his total lack of understanding, him not  being Catholic,

and as an Englishman, he questions the reasons why Franco and his officers decided to defend

Spain, with weapons, and fought a civil war [a Holy War in fact] against legitimate government,

but, as we know, a government fully supportive, and in fact unquestionably serving the

Moscow organized communist revolution in Spain.

Such books are not suitable to get good truthful account of what has happened, because they

are poisoned by the liberal pro-leftist bias which puts such leftist perspective ahead of the

truth. It is extremely hard to read for its flatness and lack of understanding of what exactly

was happening in Toledo, and for that matter in Spain, during those times. 

Mr. McNeill-Moss uses genuine data about the siege of Alcázar, but the error comes in when

he tries to explain what and why it happened, including somewhat sarcasm about the truth

- that is, that for every God loving Catholic in Spain this was a Holy Crusade, and not just an

ordinary civil strife, as Mr. McNeil-Moss only seems to grasp, but that the communist infidel

had to be fought and the supernatural help from God was present in Spain, and God fought

for the Catholic forces till the final victory.

This is what is the truth, and it is absolutely left out by such writers, as McNeil-Moss and

Mr. Eby.  This is why I do question their accounts because, even when they are truthful about

the raw data and facts, and they accurately report what has happened, they are not given the

necessary grace from God to fully explain [and they don't explain] why this war was fought,

and thus they are only allowed to remain within the boundaries of human and natural....

Therefore, and for this exact and essential defect, such sources, as McNeill-Moss and Eby, are

highly tainted for their anti-Catholic bias, which is apparent from the whole book of Mr. Eby

for example, and from its, though carefully disguised, pro-leftist character, but to those with

experience with communist methods it is apparent, professor Eby shows it in "splendid

colors", even though an American, Mr. Eby allows for this bias to stick all over his book.

He questions the crusading resolve of the Alcázar commander Colonel Don Jose Moscardó

and his undeniable Catholicism and Moscardó's demonstrated trust in God and His help,

and it is Mr. Eby who paints Colonel Moscardó as pro-German and pro-Nazi.

In the beginning of this book [page 3], which book I do not recommend, it says:

"Toledo, the administrative center of a poor province and a rich diocese of Spain, lies 40 miles south of Madrid."

On page 18 Mr. Eby writes:

[Note from Mr. Eby at the bottom of the page]:

 

Although the Republican militia were to adopt many devices of the Communists - the red star, the Marxian hagiography, the clenched-fist salute - the Communist Party was extremely small at the outbreak of the war.

 

The propaganda of the Rightists [means Catholics], however, eagerly seized upon these manifestations in order to support their claim that they were engaged in a war against Communism."

[Ed. note  Mr. Eby then lists all the other groups and parties, all involved in the so called Popular Front, ruling Spain with their clenched fist, but Mr. Eby makes it look like the communist involvement was not substantial as we are told by the "Nationalist" side -

please beware of such statements !!!

It is a long-standing operational practice of the communists, namely those trained by experienced Russian comrades, not to allow themselves to be recognized as active openly

rank-and-file communist party members.

So they  enter other political parties and groups in order to subvert them, take them over and use their cover to covertly implement communist strategy without being recognized....this is an extremely important communist scheme to notice - Mr. Eby, once again, fails to recognize it....].

Mr. Eby [page 28]:

 

"The Nationalists apparently believed that they were engaged in a holy war - to expel the Red infidel from sacred soil." 

[Ed. note - Mr. Eby wrote his book in 1965. His anti-Catholic sarcasm, even though he lists in

limited accounts the horrible atrocities the Soviet instructed Spanish communists and socialists

committed against the Catholics of Spain, Mr. Eby lacks any sincerity and understanding and

portrays such Catholic heroes as pro-fascist. 

He has never listed as a source Don Luis Bolin, who was an eyewitness and has written a remarkable book about Spain, which apparently does not fit Mr. Eby's and his likes' political and religious orientation.....I do question Mr. Carroll's taste in listing such a badly written work as a source for a Catholic book [about such an important subject], while Mr. Carroll listed also as a source Mr. Bolin, who was Spanish Catholic and knew well what the truth is and why this war was fought....and Mr. Bolin was personally present with the liberating Franco's army which forced the communist besiegers of the Alcázar to retreat and freed the defenders of Alcázar and the people of Toledo.

It should be also carefully noted that Mr. Bolin presents several facts, as a personally involved 

eye witness again, of the Stalin run Comintern agents and their subversive activities in Spain,

several of them being English nationals, who posing as "journalists" wrote articles to discredit

the Catholic sacred crusading cause, they wrote direct lies about "fascist atrocities" which

were published by the "independent and unbiased" newspapers, including the lie about the

destruction of Guernica, which was not destroyed by Nationalist bombs, as the communists

claimed all over Europe, but this town, among others which shared the same fate, was

deliberately burned to the ground by the leaving communist forces ....

One such clear case of communist subversive activities involves capture and later on capital

sentence of Arthur Koestler, a communist spy and lying communist propagandist, who's

friend and fellow conspirator was Willy Muenzenberg, head of the West European

AGITROP department of the Stalin run Comintern - Communist International - a Soviet

espionage organization.

Mr. Bolin documents that Koestler and his cohorts concocted several made-up stories of

Nationalist "atrocities" in order to paint the Church and Her defenders as fascist and to

persuade, for example in one known case, the French leftist socialist government, besides

the already fully involved Kremlin criminals, to continue to supply weapons to the

communists in Spain, which continued to be the fact !!!

Koestler was later released, his death sentence commuted. He was expelled from Spain

only because the British socialist government appealed to Franco to release this British

subject and not to execute him for spying and proved communist subversive activities

against the Spanish National government during the war... I personally think that this

was a big mistake and too much of a diplomatic leniency on part of the Franco Government.].   

But let us continue with the story.

El Alcázar was military academy in city of Toledo situated about 40 miles south of the capital

city of Madrid. Built in the middle ages as a fortress, it also served as the royal castle and court

before King Phillip II moved the royal court to Madrid.

When the monarchy fell and Spanish Republic was proclaimed, this military academy

remained as a monarchist symbol, much hated as such by the communists and their cohorts

who plotted to take over the country.

Toledo also harbored an ammunition factory which was in hands, at the time the civil war

was about to brake out, of a communist labor union and committed communist

revolutionaries, who tirelessly continued to persuade the workers to join the party and

to help Moscow to establish a  dictatorship of proletariat in the country.

But those who loved Spain and were practicing Catholics, were not moved by such voices of

darkness, but in their personal simplicity remained faithful to the Church and to Her Master,

even when living conditions and near poverty ruled their lives, for they knew very well that as

mere pilgrims on this earth we are not to seek earthly riches and human glory, but the heavenly

prize itself.

As it was already mentioned, the director of the Central School of Physical Education in the

Alcázar Military Academy was Colonel Don Jose Moscardó, who, when the academy director

Col. Albeihe was detained in Madrid, arrested by the communists and later on, alongside

other political prisoners, shot by the Bolsheviks, Colonel Moscardó was the senior officer

in command of Alcázar and the Military Governor of Toledo.

He knew well that the Republic was turning into a Soviet communist dictatorship and he was

not exactly silent about it, but the government didn't regard him as a direct threat and let him

serve in his post.

Moscardó, naturally eager to learn first hand what was happening and what his orders will be, 

he decided to go to Madrid and seek trustworthy military officers who would let him know

what the plan was and whether the military uprising was being prepared - to defend the

Church and the Catholic Faith in Spain and to prevent the Moscow backed communist

criminals from establishing another Soviet communist dictatorship in Europe.

Upon his arrival Colonel Moscardó has secretly learned in Madrid that General Franco was

preparing his secret departure from his post in the Canary Island, where the communist led

Spanish Government removed him to prevent him from organizing anything to their

communist revolution undesirable, but General Franco has planned to get away from the

island and join the Spanish Foreign Legion, stationed in Spanish Morocco.

This highly trained military outfit, numbering some 24 740 soldiers, was brought by Italian

military planes [recruited by Mr. Bolin who have flown to Rome to request help from

the Italian government to fight communism] to Spanish mainland and began to take over the

country, with the help of many Spanish Catholics, civilian and military, including the Carlists,

a Catholic monarchist movement, and its highly trained militia called Requete, numbering

some 30 thousand Catholic fighters, mostly from the province of Navarra.

Don Moscardó learned that day, July 18 1936, that the rising was on, and so he went back

speedily to Toledo to join his family and prepare to oppose the communists.

The plan was not to give up and wait for Franco's forces to relieve the Alcázar when it would

hold out until that time, but the whole plan was also to try to capture and hold the entire city of

Toledo, so that no communist stronghold could be established there, which part of Moscardó's

plan proved undoable for the obvious reasons that the overwhelming force, the communist

government had at its disposal, was not possible to fight against in the open country, lacking

firepower and military heavy hardware [artillery canons, ammunition, planes etc.] and even

when they tried to hold Toledo, this part of the plan had to be later on abandoned and defense

was conducted only from the Alcázar fortress.

One of the main problems Colonel Moscardó faced was how many people would be fighting

with him and how many Catholic anti-communists, including the Civil Guard [police force],

mostly loyal to Spain and the Church, would be joining them in the Alcázar.

This was resolved by the Civil Guard commanding officer Colonel Romero who had a plan

prepared a month in advance, which included sealed letters and coded messages to give orders

to open them for instructions, which letters were in possession of the Civil Guard officers in

charge of all provincial posts.

When Moscardó, alongside other officers present in the Alcázar, decided to oppose the

republic and the communist government and to join in the military uprising, they knew that

most of the military bases in Spain would join them and try to take over the country as soon as

possible.

The reason for this was deeply religious - the communist led Spanish Government was already

allowing the communist militia [or even the government communist run police participating

itself !!!] to conduct a brutal heinous anti-Catholic terror, which barbarity hasn't been yet

surpassed, only matched by the one committed by communists within the Soviet Bloc.

The countless crimes of such political murders and religious persecution and sacrilegious

destruction of our sacred Apostolic Faith were not to be accepted and tolerated by the military

commanders and the Catholic gentlemen of Spain.

Spanish Catholics realized that what the Republic promised was not carried out, that the

government was controlled by forces of Satan [Moscow backed communists - many disguised

purposely as "socialists" and "anarchists" on Kremlin's orders !], that when the elections in

1934 gave the political victory to the Catholic Right, the communists by cheating, and later on

by force, usurped the power and set up the "Popular Front" communist government and have

taken over the Spanish Parliament [named Cortes], from which the Catholic political parties

resigned in protest of the persecution of the Church - a persecution clearly committed by a

legitimate authority !

When the Catholic leader in Cortes Don Calvo Sotelo was murdered by the government sent

communist assassins, to silence him and get rid of him who was totally anti-communist and

firmly Catholic politician and the most feared leader of the opposition, Catholic Spain had

enough of communist persecution of the Church and of government sanctioned destruction

of freedom to practice the Faith, and so the military leaders led by General Franco proclaimed

Holy Crusade against the Moscow backed communist government.

General Franco knew well that it would be difficult, but he knew that God will be with them

and that those who will fight for God, His Church and their country, God will lead to holy

victory.

Imagine today, specially in a country as godless as America [and the already socialist Western

Europe as well] - the totally unprepared citizenry, embracing willingly every soul-poisoning

pleasure there is, as all such evil is repugnant to God - but they don't care, so when the

punishment of God comes by the hands of Russian led communists, as they tried in Spain

already during those times mentioned, just imagine, when this all is done and nobody is ready

for it, very few believe it and none are willing to oppose it and fight for God, their Faith and

their country, then when such people are finally persuaded by, on them by brutal satanic force

imposed Russian communism [world-wide], will they have the necessary resolve, given only

through the grace of God and true embracement of Our Apostolic Catholic Faith [without

which they are basically an infernal toast - no joke !] or will they just crawl and do what they

love to do the most - nothing ?

Please, don't get me wrong - there will be "patriots" in this upcoming fight [WW3], but their

"patriotism" to safeguard the errors, heresies they embrace and their complete love of this

wicked World will not stand in front of God, Who is the Supreme Arbiter in all, so when such

"patriots" try to defend America, they will be subdued, not because they don't want to defend

their country, but because they will do it for a completely wrong reason - which is, they will do

it for themselves and to protect what is morally decayed already, which is nothing but a lie and

deceit to them and a supreme error in front of God, and so, as they will not embrace the truth,

which the Spanish Catholics did, and such people will not sacrifice themselves for God and His

Church [and the only true Faith there is], these Russian communist criminals will make them

pay and God will not be with America, no way !

These people laugh at God's supreme mercy, which is His Son's offered Redemption and the

Gift of Faith and the Catholic Church, and they continue with their evils committed against God

every day.

I tried many times to approach these fools, tell them what kind of evil they're up against, but it

is evident to me that, since they don't love God and His Church and they don't want to do

anything to defend it and the Faith, God is not with them and will not be with them, and what

is the worst [for them], is when I tried to approached them and warn them, God has withheld

His grace from them so they didn't believe me and were not allowed [by God] to understand

me what I was so desperately trying to tell them. 

So they will learn the hard way and, if not repentant and if they won't amend, they will sign

their own death warrant - for this life, and they will damn their immortal soul forever.

But let us continue with the story. 

The secret plan was prepared and put in action.

Franco's Foreign Legion will land in southern Spain and crush the communists before they can

realize the extent of the rising and prevent its successful impact and sooner or later victorious

end.

But the plan had to be supported by military might, which also consists in substantial logistical

support, including arms and ammunition.  In Toledo such problem was resolved because of

the ammunition factory there, but as soon as the government has learned about the rising,

Colonel Moscardó received a phone call from the Ministry of War ordering him to load

up all ammunition and send it to Madrid.

Moscardo's reply was that he must have the order in writing as the military rules prescribe.

This has bought the Alcázar forces some time, as Moscardó intended to get the ammunition inside the Alcázar and to delay the Government orders as further as possible, while the defenders of Alcázar were expecting the arrival of the Civil Guards and those soldiers who have been nearby or in Toledo at the time and wanted to join in and defend Spain from communism. 

When substantial personnel was available Colonel Moscardó and his staff then sent trucks to the ammunition factory, which was in hands of pro-communist labor union and the workmen who almost all supported the communist run republic and opposed the military uprising.

The risk to get squeezed by the substantially large numbers of workers in the factory, while

the forces of Alcázar were still too thin to attempt anything direct was a risky proposition,

but when the next day Moscardo received another phone call from the Ministry of War to

order him again to load all the ammo and send it to Madrid [and to give up all weapons to

the Peoples Militia upon its arrival to Toledo], it was clear to them that Moscardo is playing

for time and even when he replied that he has very few trucks to carry out the order, which

was his elaborate deception in its best, the officer in Madrid replied that he will send more

trucks in the morning.

Don Moscardó knew then that the trucks will carry a substantial number of Red Army

militiamen to make sure that Colonel Moscardó and the Alcázar soldiers cannot get the

ammunition themselves. 

It was clear as a whistle that action had to take place, so Moscardo ordered the officer in charge

to load the ammo, a highly hesitant and unreliable Colonel Soto, who, when the trucks arrived

from the Alcázar to load the ammo, tried to slow the loaders down and even tried to stop the

soldiers from taking the ammunition out of the factory by saying "We must think this over

gentlemen...." to which he was replied by the officer in charge of the loading that there is

nothing to be thought over, and so the ammunition was successfully brought inside the

Alcázar.

It was also clear that Colonel Soto and those under his command in the factory, who remained

to guard it, when the Madrid Red Militia forces arrived, gave up without a fight and thus the

ammunition factory was since then firmly in the hands of the communists.

Beware of people with no conscience, those who know about the evil but will not perform

to warn about it, resist it and will lead others by sinful example to remain hesitant and

"undecided".....such people will cause more evil than meets the eye....many such are among

us today, some of the enemy camp !

According to Colonel Moscardó's testimony requested by the Franco's Ministry of Justice, as

part of the legal investigation and indictment prepared against the communists, then already

General Moscardó replied [published in the work published by the  Spanish Ministry of Justice

"The General Cause - The Red Domination in Spain", Madrid 1946, page 318 - 319], and stated

the following:

"In Madrid [July 18, 1936] I have received news of the revolt of the African

garrisons, which was the signal expected for the beginning of our Sacred Crusade;

so I immediately returned in great haste to Toledo, where I arrived at about three

in the afternoon and at once circulated orders to everybody to take up their positions as previously arranged.

The organization of numerous volunteers as well as the occupation of the strategic points of the town, were immediately undertaken.

Moscardó and his Catholic crusaders had now about 800 thousand cartridges to fight for God and their country against the Stalin backed communist criminals.

The Siege

It would be impossible to describe all the cases of heroism and Christian valor on part of the

defenders, but the main source of the facts in this part will be the work of Spanish Ministry of

Justice "The General Cause - The Red Domination in Spain" [later "TGC"], Madrid 1946,

and the testimony of General Moscardó [promoted to this rank by General Franco right after

the siege was lifted].

When it was clear that the Alcázar fortress is not willing to support the communist government

of Spain and thus agree with its horrifying atrocities and crimes committed by the communist

"chekas" all over Red controlled Spain, the Madrid communist government dispatched

promptly several columns of armed militia to Toledo in order to subdue the fortress into

obedience and punish the defending officers and soldiers, whom the government considered

in revolt.

The clear proofs of communist terror in Spain, by then obvious and indisputable to all who

love God, justice and truth, were the deciding force behind the military rising.

Because of some who may not believe the extent of such brutal oppression, few pictures

published by the Spanish Ministry of Justice in the already mentioned publication, will suffice.

These pictures are not suitable for children and anybody with heart problem and I only post

them here to make certain that the reader gets the point right.

This is the true face of communism and its terror, it won't be any different when Russian led communist forces hit America. To not oppose them with military force would mean that people will in fact agree with such evil as seen on these pictures.

There is enough evidence that these atrocities were committed with the "advice" and under orders of already present in Spain of Russian communist advisers, criminals who have had years of experience in torture and brutal murders of all opponents of Communism. ]

examples of communist crimes, including murders of innocent women and children.]

People as Mr. Eby and his likes, who don't report this [and he had access to this work because his book was published in 1965, 19 years after this publication mentioned was published by

the Franco Government], are in fact saying that the crimes of communism were exaggerated

and that the Holy Crusade against Russian led communism is a nonsense and in Spain it was part of the "Rightist propaganda".  Shame on such people, SHAME !!!

[Brothers of the Asylum San Juan de Dios, murdered in Valencia. This was a mental care institution and these monks and sisters who were there helping those with mental illnesses, were assassinated by the communists just because of their Catholic charity....]

Please let it be acknowledged and observed that I had to weigh long whether I would post

such pictures on my website - but for the sake of truth and justice, I have to do it. It is this seriousness of the present situation we find ourselves in, in regards to the upcoming Russian instigated WW3 and subsequent Russian led communist world-wide slavery, that one has to

be informed and know beforehand what satanic evil we will be dealing with - and to those

who would dare try to hamper our crusading tasks it should be clear that they will be dealt with with firm justice.

The story continues....

Colonel Moscardó, alongside his fellow officers and Civil Guard police [those who made it safely with their families to Alcázar] agreed unanimously that the honor of Spain has to be defended and that they will hold out inside the fortress until relieved by the advancing Franco's army.

Colonel Moscardó says the following ["TGC", pg. 328-329] :

 "After the defenders had concentrated at the Alcazar, they were called up by

telephone almost daily and threatened, with a view to making them surrender.

 

The first to call up was General Pozas who, when he saw that neither the

ammunition nor the 200 Civil Guards were sent, threatened "not to leave one

stone of the Alcázar standing".

 

Next, on 21st July [1936], General Riquelme telephoned ordering us to surrender,

and demanding an explanation as to our attitude; to which I replied that our

attitude was that which corresponded to every man of honor considering the

disaster the Marxist Government was bringing on Spain; that we were absolutely

in accord with General Franco, and altogether unwilling to fulfill the order to

deliver the armament of the Academy and the Civil Guard to the rabble

to serve them as arms in their attack.

 

Riquelme insisted that our attitude was absurd, and that he would be obliged to

take active steps in the matter, to which I answered that we would all of us rather

die than see the Alcázar turned into a dung-heap.

 

The following day, the Minister of Education, Barnes, made an attempt to shake

our patriotic determination by saying that our resistance would occasion damage to

the city of Toledo, "that precious jewel", and that we should bear this fact in mind,

since it was certain that if we did not change our attitude, violent measures would

be adopted.

 

He said he hoped however things would not come to that, as he looked upon our

attitude with sympathy, "considering it rather childish than otherwise".

 

To him I replied too, that our attitude was not to be shaken and that we should

not surrender to anything and anybody, in our determination to help save the

Country by our efforts.

How many times, let me pause here for a moment, but how many times I have heard from

various people that when Russian communism and its helpers begin the "chastisement", all

we have to do is to pray and do more penance, while, in addition to this being clearly heretical in not wholly fulfilling our sacred duty towards God and His Church by defending them against God's enemies, when you read such words of clear and conscientious Catholic resolve, is it not alarming indeed how far in treachery towards God some people have already progressed and are not willing to turn from it, and also how many innocent souls these enemies have already poisoned ?

General Moscardó writes more ["TGC", pg. 329]:

"In the afternoon of 23rd July [1936], the telephone rang, and I was asked for.

 

I took up the receiver and the Chief of the Militia of Toledo said in a thundering

voice: "You are responsible for all the crimes and all that is now happening in

Toledo; I give you a space of ten minutes in which to surrender the Alcázar; if you

don't, I shall have your son Luis who is standing here beside me, shot."

 

I myself: "I don't believe it."

 

Militia Chief: --- "As a proof, he will now come to the telephone."

 

Son. ---"Father !"

 

I [Moscardó]. --- "What is it, my boy ?"

 

Son. --- "Nothing; they say if you don't surrender they will shoot me !"

 

I. --- "Well then commend your soul to God and die like a true patriot, crying:

        Christ our Savior and Spain ! [Viva Cristo Rey ! and Viva España !]

 

[Ed. note - The translation of "Viva Cristo Rey" is exactly "Long live Christ the King"

- the Spanish translator no doubt made a small mistake.]

 

Son. --- "A hearty embrace, Father !"

 

I, to the Militia Chief: --- "You may save yourself the truce of ten minutes you gave

me and shoot my son, because the Alcázar will never surrender !"

Luis Moscardó was shot in Toledo about a month later, on August 23, 1936.

Colonel Moscardó's oldest son Jose, Spanish infantry lieutenant [of the official Spanish Army -

not the communist military], was murdered by a Red firing squad in Barcelona at about the same time as the above conversation took place. 

He was in hiding in Barcelona, couldn't get out through the communist check points and was picked up in the city by the Red militia, "tried" and murdered without delay. 

Mrs. Moscardó and the youngest son Carmelo were hidden in a lunatic asylum and survived

until the Nationalist forces reached Toledo and liberated it from the communist siege.

[Ed. note - just to show the readers how evil the communist terror and brutalities were, there

is an account of a case of a poor woman about 45 years of age, daughter of a former surgeon in

city of Alberique, of whom the "cheka" communists demanded large sum of money, which she

didn't have, so when they came back to collect, being drunk, they've raped this helpless 

woman repeatedly the whole night and then threw her out of the balcony to her death.

The account, written by a republican prosecutor, who's conscience as a professional lawyer forbade him to be silent about such crimes, continues.

In city of Villanueva de Castellon, where many persons have been murdered by the communist "Committee of Peoples Militia" (Soviet NKVD or KGB "tribunal"), a family was murdered.

First, the father was stabbed to death, then the son and the daughter, and as she was pregnant, when stabbed, the Bolshevik criminals cut out the unborn baby out of her womb with the same knives and dashed the baby against the nearest wall killing it....

Various crimes committed against the clergy and Catholic faithful are also documented in this

important book, including pictures of people who had firstly, before being shot or burned alive

or drowned or buried alive, had their eyes cut out or they were murdered by the communist

cheka criminals in a way that their sculls were smashed with the rifle butts....just for being Catholic and or showing any kind of charitable works, including cases when people were arrested and later murdered just because they came to inquire about the members of their families already in hands of the communists.....

Mr. Carroll and or Mr. Eby have not included such accounts and pictures supplied in the

"The General Cause - The Red Domination in Spain" in their books, which, I am sure,

if done, would put more serious weight and historical truth would be served much better.

When then, as it is evident, Mr. Carroll's source in regards to what has happened during the

siege of the Alcazar, should be considered by the fact that he listed as his only source Mr. Eby,

who as a source is highly unreliable and omits or disregards or falsely presents various

important facts of communist terror and crimes committed in Spain during such years, one has

to be concerned about the truth being told, specially in the light of the fact that Mr. Carroll has

one time, as he states himself, visited the Soviet Bloc during the openly communist era -Eastern

Europe - and that he hasn't gained any more vigor in a more complete and more detailed

account of communist terror, instead even portraying some of the conducts of the Spanish

National forces as "brutal", and even using refuted facts and a clear communist propaganda

as the truth or likely to be truth....]
